Tate Laptop...

Post by Spacehog »

Hi,
am I likely to kill my laptop when I turn the whole thing 90° to play games?? Not too bothered to try it out as my laptop is nearly older than me anyway... but would like to know what people who know something about hardware think.

I do that with my Powerbook, and nothing has broken yet. Be careful you don't knock it over, that could be damaging.

What's to damage? It's an LCD screen (no CRT degaussing), and the rest of it a device designed from the ground up to be moved around and oriented in all sorts of weird directions.

It's probably the safest tate system there is.

Yeah-laptops are designed to cope with a fair bit of motion (they don't like impacts though!) and the lcd is almost solid state so there should be no problem at all with a bit of rotation. Like the man said just don't knock it over too many times :)
