Magic the Gathering Advert

Well it looks like Wizards of the Coast are on a big advertising push at the moment what with D&D 4th Edition out and a new Magic the Gathering set out too.

in this months Retro Gamer we had a double page advert for D&D and it was a pretty good, covered all the main points for people who have never done pen and paper roleplay before so 10/10 for this advert

however....

on the back cover was an advert for Magic the Gathering, it was in a coffee shop with two friends playing MtG while a sad pleb in the background (with no friends) was playing on his PSP looking over at the other two longingly!

ok so far so good but....

one of the players is a girl!

now ive played D&D and roleplayed for many a year and you do get girls playing these games, in fact they can get realy into it but i have never EVER in all my years seen a girl play Magic the Gathering. it just doesn't happen EVER!!!

shame on you Wizards for lying to us, girls just don't find card games cool!

btw if you have seen girls playing magic then they are probably leenage boys in dresses FACT!

My mates wife to be plays a bit of magic. Shes all about her green deck lol

shes pretty hot too

I am fairly sure shes not a guy

Oh, I'd say you get 1 girl for every 50 to 100 guys at a Magic tournament. They're rare, but they exist. Outside of tournaments, there are even more females. I think most of them don't enjoy the tournament atmosphere.

They're mostly the homely types. If my school's cafeteria is any indication.

Funny...I go to one tournament for a day and see 3 playing.

That's three more than the number I see during 3 years of casual play.

Two of them had stuff all the way from freaking Alpha too.

Me and my friend met both our girlfriends on the same night. Mine turned out to be a complete bithc his is likely one of the coolest girls I have ever met. not even in bizarreo world , but were like family now.
