Which storage device to buy for the HB?
Also I'm looking for a used storage device for it as well.

Got there from "best of japanese homebrew" thread link. Usually I don´t hang around in places like this, with their DS "releases"

it's very watered down, you can't actually play with the exact arika rotation rulesbrokenhalo wrote:i hear that the 360 game tgm ace is a bit watered down compared to the arcade series. how much of a difference is there? i've got a copy, just don't have a j-360 to play it on yet....
do yourself a favor and just download heboris or texmaster for the pc

sanwa modded hori ex2 fixes that. only problem is that when i play tetris splash i have to take off my headset or everyone can hear the joystick and buttons clicking away.PsikyoPshumpPshooterP wrote:the 360 d-pad is absolutely horrible to play TGM Ace on. the game is balls hard with the terrible control

Actually, it claims that you can't copyright a game idea (copyright does not extend to ideas), and that TTC simply didn't patent Tetris. Game rules actually can be patented, as perverse as the idea may be.Frederik wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDJQP1xg5EY

Dropping pieces gives you NO credit toward going to the next level.orange wrote:it's very watered down, you can't actually play with the exact arika rotation rulesbrokenhalo wrote:i hear that the 360 game tgm ace is a bit watered down compared to the arcade series. how much of a difference is there? i've got a copy, just don't have a j-360 to play it on yet....

You have to clear 10 lines to go up a level in TGM Ace. There's also an Out Run style section timer which isn't appropriate for Tetris IMO. If the section timer runs out, it's an instant game over- I think the threat of topping out is enough risk. There's also that "infinity" system where the auto-lock can be delayed many times. Just rotate or move the piece.
It's a crime that TGM 3 hasn't been ported to a console. I think The Tetris Company needs to make a grandfather clause for older arcade releases so they can be ported. Maybe Arika can put out a Tetris TGM Ace II and sneak in the arcade titles as a bonus, like Namco did with PS2 Tekken 5's history mode.
Kinect? KIN NOT.
Arika only has a Japanese arcade licence for Tetris. ACE was a one-time exception supposedly commissioned by Microsoft as a launch title for 360. Mihara has wanted to make console ports of his games since TGM1, but has always been given a red light from The Tetris Company.
But it seems Hong Kong pirates have taken matters into their own hands and fulfilled your wishes of the game becoming commercial-- that is, they've slapped NDS_TGM unmodified onto ROM carts and started selling them. The Tetris Company got wind of it and notified MeRAMAN in the form of a cease & desist letter. So that's it for NDS_TGM.

a few questions about tgm ace on the xbox 360.
1. how do you unlock "another"? i can't seem to play anything other than the 4 original single player modes (standard, speed+1, speed+2 and big), even though i've completed them all a few times.
2. is there any way to play the game using the d-pad? i can use the d-pad to navigate menus, but then it is disabled during a match. couldn't find anything in options and i want to use my sanwa stick.
3. is there a guide anywhere online that has the menus translated? the tetris concept wiki is a good starting point, but it's a bit incomplete.
oh, and heboris rules. thanks for that suggestion orange

Yes, go to the Options -> Player 1 and look for the option that currently reads something like 左スチック and change it to either of the other options (which correspond to D-Pad only and both Stick/D-Pad IIRC)brokenhalo wrote:2. is there any way to play the game using the d-pad? i can use the d-pad to navigate menus, but then it is disabled during a match. couldn't find anything in options and i want to use my sanwa stick.
Also I'm interested in how to get anything over Normal/HS1/HS2 or any of the other achievements aside from the clears. The lack of ranking system is deeply confusing to me.

Going online and beating the Road modes & the grade exam modes is required for unlocking more modes, and all other modes must be unlocked for Another.brokenhalo wrote:1. how do you unlock "another"? i can't seem to play anything other than the 4 original single player modes (standard, speed+1, speed+2 and big), even though i've completed them all a few times.
Try Texmaster if you want more challenging/accurate gameplay at the expense of worse graphics.brokenhalo wrote:oh, and heboris rules. thanks for that suggestion orange

Thanks, mufunyo. I tried that 0815 version on NO$GBA (to see if the file works before buying the flashcart), but unfortunately it didn't do anything but a blank white screen. Being around 46M or so, does this 0815 version work on actual hardware only?
It says "Unstable, contains hidden bugs".Errors per second -- 124,304
Total Errors -- 9,695,782
Low Power Mode -- Okay
Multiboot Support -- Unsupported (file too large)
Quality Rating -- Disqualified
Kinect? KIN NOT.

It works on my actual DS. I just got the Acekard 2 and a Kingston 1GB Micro SD card. The background animations are nicely done.
Shame this got C&D'ed at such at time, when I'd guess it was 80% done. If it had Sakura & Easy modes (Easy being like Heboris UE's Tamaya Trial), the grading system, the Cool/Regret feature (get a Cool without any Section Time Regret and the game speed increases), and the "torikan" (i.e. if you take longer than 7 minutes to reach 500/999 on Master, your game ends with an "EXCELLENT! ...but let's go better next time!" message) it'd be pretty much complete.
Fuck those HK pirates.
