This happened the other day (pardon the abysmal score, I was rushing through the levels without chaining in an effort to just 1cc)

I made it about 3/4ths of the way through the final stage of Gradius about a month ago so I feel your pain. I'll pull it off eventually, you will too.

I probably would have already but I went on vacation right afterward and haven't really picked it back up yet.

I like that game a lot. It has a very enjoyable pace to it, great funky music, classic Irem graphics quality, very twitchy, and while it´s pretty easy early on it never feels boring. Might wanna pick that up again

Lol, the Casino has so many depths. One of these days, I'm going to play some of the other cabs apart from the Cave ones and Metal Slug 3.

It's an unusual game. I think you could probably just ignore the weird scoring system and enjoy surviving through it, but the bosses might be a little too short-lived that way. Other things going against it: hitbox isn't very clear, launcher lacks the precision/user control of GW's barrier and MM's mosquito. It's not like Takumi has been releasing a lot of games lately, though.

Last night I at down to Progear after something of a break and did something that replicated the screen above. While I've 1CC'd the game before, it was gutting last night to get to the second to final pattern of the last boss with no lives in stock and no bombs at 10.9 million, just ever so slightly under the 11 million needed for the extend.

If I'd of killed a tiny bit more popcorn, I would have just been able to panic bomb the end! So hard to get any points from that boss.

So frustrating I nearly had to tell strangers on the tube home from the arcade. Still, no point dwelling on 'if only'!
