Good for you! I've reduced buying and selling on ebay to a minimum, but haven't managed quit completely.

What are you using instead? ebid.net?

I know you didn't ask me, but ebay sucks, and is sucking worse as time goes by. They raise their fees at regular intervals, made the search much worse by greatly reducing the amount of sub-categories, the new "my ebay" page is awful. And let's not get started about paypal.

Yeah, I'm wrapping up the last sale now. :) I may poke in for a bid now and then if it's someone here or someone I know, but between the silly fees, bad practices and RIDICULOUS members/seller/buyers, I've had my share.

Nothing yet, besides the couple forums I hang around. I do want to check out ebid and GameGavel more, but I know one of them seemed to be blocking out GP's IP, which sucks because I love imports. :) Still gonna check them out.

Also, I do use Y!J now and then, but it's a better experience all around.

That, and I just had some really bad experiences both as a seller and buyer, getting screwed every which way. Yay!

I feel like I've got this big burden off my chest. :)

I've got new slogans for ebay & paypal:

Ebay: "Making Things Worse"

Paypal: "Making You Pay!"

I know, you started this crusade a couple of times before. I am aware that it sucks, I was just curious about the specific incident that became kozo's last drop.

This is basically it. I had someone pay me via Western Union a while ago. I was nervous because I had never done it before, but the buyer was someone I knew and trusted. I didn't have to pay a dime to receive it (the buyer pays the wire fee, which I think is fair) and walked out with cash in hand. No clearing, no fees, no transferring to bank account 4 days later, no giving out my bank account number, etc.

Not saying WU is the way to go, but it was quite refreshing.

eBay is the biggest problem for me though. It and it's users have tired me. PayPal is just the dung cherry on the shit cake.

I've had people winning my items and not paying for them. Rather recent, seems ever since the negative feedback for buyers was axed I've been getting more and more of these.

And I can't do much about it. Rather retarded...

I love the fact that you still cannot filter a seller's feedback. The few times i've been burnt have been from sellers with pages of feedback. Those few negatives can be a pretty good indicator of a seller's character, even if their only a few.

Yes, I have been using "Fixed Price" with "Immedate Payment Required" ever since.

But I still manage to get a horde of non-paying buyers...
