Yes, it's that time again...Shockerfest 2008 will be hosted at the Riverbank, CA based Galaxy12 movie theater for the 3rd year in a row since 2006. It will be for three days on October 3-5, 2008. A mere twenty bucks gets you in for one day or twenty-five bucks for all three days (an even better deal).
Special guest stars will be attending this year's SF-08' event are:
Vernon Wells (of "The Road Warrior/Mad Max 2" fame) and Brinke Stevens (famous "Scream Queen" actress of horror films with a super sexy body to die for). They will be available for autographs as well. ^_~

The cool Asian Kung-Fu horror thriller "God of Vampires" that was shown at last year's SF-2007 event was a hoot. The film director gave a little speech about it after the film was shown and was gracious enough to have an Q&A session with the audience. Said that it took him seven years to get it finished -- why so long? Because he would get some money, shoot the movie and run out. Repeat it off and on for a period of seven years and it was finally finished and shown in it's entirety last year at SF-2007. Best word of advice: Be sure to have enough capital to film and finish filming it to the very end.
What was cool about this "God of Vampires" was that it had some cool Matrix-inspired gun battles infused with Chinese zombies and Chinese vampires thrown in to spice things up a bit -- more of an Kung-Fu/action/horror hybrid type of film that one doesn't see much these days. This motley Asian crew armed to the teeth has to kill an Asian Vampire God and all hell breaks loose on the journey to pursue him. Two thumbs up in my book of horror films to check out. ^_~
