I did, and then I ran across this when I realized I didn't know what fixes it was supposed to provide -

I haven't run into any problem so far, but it's not a good thing to have happen.

I've been putting it off since yesterday. Guess I'll wait for another update.
Been having another weird issue as of late though (I guess it's since the update previous to this new one? Not sure.). I keep at least three separate windows open with multiple tabs in each. I have it set to restore my session if I quit so I can keep those windows/tabs and whenever I quit Firefox it just hangs. I have to force quit to get it to close. Restores my session fine when I open it back up though. Anyone else experience this?

This shouldn't effect you unless you use wacky characters in your passwords ..
Sometimes Firefox takes awhile to close with that much stuff open. It takes time to "clean up" everything. Wait awhile and see if it eventually dissapears from the task manager.I keep at least three separate windows open with multiple tabs in each. And yes Firefox 3 is generally slower and buggier than 2. :/
Buggy, yes. They really should have done more testing before releasing it this summer. But slower? Not a chance. It's like greased lightning compared to Firefox 2, for me.Udderdude wrote:And yes Firefox 3 is generally slower and buggier than 2. :/
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Firefox 3's buggy memory handling scheme on my old memory-poor PC (about every other day, the process would just spiral up a few MB of memory every sec.) forced me to search for an alternative after having been a pretty faithful Firefox follower since the Phoenix and Firebird days.
I tried IE8b2 after hearing good things about it but naturally, it was just as cumbersome as IE has always been. So I decided to spring for Chrome on my main PC, finding it to be very fast and using an acceptable amount of memory in its multiple processes.
Still, everywhere else, I keep with Firefox; its text protection is simply too useful. You can navigate to any other page and even have the browser unexpectedly close but the text you typed into a form will stay safe, something that's saved me so many times already, including here typing a message on Shmups.

You can always downgrade back to Firefox 2. Been considering it myself, I keep finding new and even more annoying bugs. :/Ganelon wrote:Firefox 3's buggy memory handling scheme on my old memory-poor PC (about every other day, the process would just spiral up a few MB of memory every sec.) forced me to search for an alternative after having been a pretty faithful Firefox follower since the Phoenix and Firebird days.
I've found some tips that can help with the slowdown when Firefox 3 starts.

It also helps to disable Java and download the latest version of Flash Player.
