where is this at?

ill look into getting a ticket across the pond for this, a weekend in NY isnt necessarily that expensive

i've been looking at tickets to jump the pond to europe myself, if you are somewhat serious about visiting sven but can't make the 3 week window, i'll be happy to adjust the date forward.

*checks calendar* Still looks okay from here. And it gives me more time to practice these arcade-only releases - IN MY IMAGINATION (in my case, it'd probably do just as much good as actually playing them, heh heh).

Sven, you were planning on coming around here some ways back but it never worked out, right? Hopefully we can rectify that this time.

sux too....if i had known about this i could have booked my vacation time for then and hopped on a bus there....instead i have been off this week.....

yeah i ended up bumming around the westcoast instead..

anyways sent out a couple of requests for cheap plane tickets, well see what they come back with, seems like theyre around $8-900

i think the trick is normally to get to the UK as cheaply as possible, then get a flight to NYC from there.

if you end up coming out i'll take off some days from work and we can wander around the big apple.

would also be helpful if anybody could post some hostel/cheap motels in the area....park benches would work too....maybe not in december tho.....lolz

looks like i can get dirtcheap tickets then.. if those dates dont work i think ill need a firm date to serch around with..

hmmm. well i was moving it ahead to oct 4 since some people said the 27th wasn't good for them. do the tickets really jump in price for that next week?

oct 4th is set for the shmeet.

if you book some tickets tell me the dates so i can get some of those days off work.

funny, i've not looked around much but i'll probably be trying to get out to LA soon. as i said, most tickets from NYC to the UK are reasonable, especially starting in the off season.

last minute tickets never really work out tho, so im not surprised if the prices suck now.

well there is a week for you to make sure you can.

it's been posted for over a month, so i'm hoping some people make it out.

the annoying thing about this is that we are the NYC metro area, yet there is literally a drop of interest in participating in this shmup meet.

i'm only looking to see genuinely interested shmup players this time, otherwise i could fill my apartment with lots of people.

so to anyone who asks "where can i play XYZ in the nyc area?" or "wheres a good arcade in the nyc area?" or "why no good shmups out in the big apple?", if you don't show up i don't know what to say to you guys.

this kind of thing pisses me off aswell, people are always whining that there arent any arcades and that they cant play the newer titles and whatever.. and when someone makes an effort and puts it all out there for anyone to enjoy they dont even make the effort to show up
