Hello,
I am posting this in a few forums because I really need this ASAP.
I recently got a Taito Egret 29, and it seems like whoever owned this in the past tried to put a dreamcast inside or something, however, they must have been complete amateurs because the wiring is completely horrendous. None of the buttons in the thing work, and the cab is just unstable. Also, many of the wires are very very sloppy. The monitor seems to be perfect, luckily. The cab can run games though, and I use a custom built PS2/Jamma converter to actually control the games with my ps2 joystick.
I'm wondering if there is anybody in SoCal that can come over to my place and completely rewire my cab. I'd of course pay for the work, and I'd really like somebody extremely familiar with wiring these types of cabs with lots of experience. I can buy all the parts ahead of time as directed, so that when the fixer comes over, all is ready to go.
I know there are lots of LAers with candy cabs out there, and many of you are tech saavy! Help a fellow gamer out!!
Pablo
Can anybody in SoCal help me wire my cabinet?

For mikehaggar,
Just print out an Egret II wiring diagram schematic and run the traces from there as for the correct wiring of joysticks and push buttons.
Or you could look up in the phonebook under the subject heading of "Amusement Vendors" in the Yellowpages. Call some amusement vendors and ask if they are willing to send one of their arcade techs over to your place and get your Egret II up and running in no time flat. Of course, you'd naturally pay by the hour for the arcade tech's time, service and expertise. By handing the arcade tech a handy Egret II wiring diagram schematic, it will make the job a whole lot easier for him or her. ^_~
And yes, a properly wired up Egret II cab works wonders for your PCBs and gaming consoles. Sorry to hear that the former owner of your Egret II mucked it up just because they wanted to play some DC games on it.
The old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" rings very true in your current messed-up candy cab situation.
Hope everything works out well for you... ^_~

this site in general is full of good info. this particular article starts you off with just a jamma harness and shows you how to wire up most of a cabinet, and more importantly gives you the jamma pinout so you can figure out where everything goes. it looks like there is a lot going on in a cab when you pull the door off and look at the power supply, but it really isn't so bad. cut off any wire wraps that you see so that you can easily trace wires and see where they go. you can rebundle everything later. if there is anything in particular that you can't figure out, take some pics and post them up. theres alot of people here who have this sort of knowledge, but unfortunately it doesn't seem like anyone lives near you.
or if you really don't want to be messing with it, pay a tech. might cost a bit, but can save you money in the long run if something gets busted or fried.

You mean you want the wiring diagram for the EGRET 1 ?mikehaggar wrote:This is the Egret 29 (i.e. the egret 1), not the egret 2. I have been unable to find any such diagram on the web at all. If anybody can find such a thing, please let me know!
