Any limitations on which MAME version to use? I tried 0.89 and it has ridiculous amounts of slowdown, recommended for the Cave fans here.

I had the stage 5 boss this close to destruction. Then he hits me with the orange homing doodads. How the heck do you avoid those? But wait! I have another ship! So what happens as soon as I reappear? The orange stuff again. CRAP.

Just slip past the orange doodads forward (move close to the boss), then move to one side and back down when they home in. Also, I love the music during this fight =)

I credit fed to the stage 5 boss to try and master that pattern. I thought I had it down so I restarted and played a few more credits. Then when the moment of truth arrived, I died on it again :? but finished off the boss afterward ;)

God dammit how you people can survive past Area 5... And rack up way over 2 million points. Damn. Huge hitbox is huge. Glad I've been playing Steel Saviour or else I would be screaming for the 1 pixel little hitbox and buzzing/grazing.

Argh! I had a whole night to myself with three hours spare to dedicate to this game, and I'm massively improving my score, knocking on the door of 2 million, and then I realise I'm playing with my Saturn on defaults - not HARD +1! Shit shit shit!

So I realise what a cockend I am at one in the morning and manage this pathetic little number:

Being as unfeasibly stupid as me has it's downsides on rare occasions, as does being honest!

There's a bug with the port, where if you change the difficulty (normal->hard+1), and the mode (saturn->arcade), and the display (yoko->tate), then exit, the difficulty reverts to normal. I found out the hard way too..shitty huh!

The music is perfect in this game.
