That mention of "the zone" and Xenon 2 made me cringe a little bit, but apart from that it was all good.

Nice to see xleague.tv talking about something other than FPS and racing games for a change too.

I'll mention that to the chaps who make it, as it's a bloody good point loads of you have expressed.

The nature of the show means news is important, and the nature of news means we often only decide what to discuss a couple of days before or less. Still, a proferssional TV show should be able to get some footage I guess...

You should all wear green shirts and play the footage on top of them!

I flick over to xleague for shitz n giggles maybe once a week for 5 minutes and somehow managed to catch this. Great stuff. I never thought I'd hear Cave mentioned on UK TV. You put an obvious passion for a neglected genre across very well mate.

I'm amazed that channel hasn't run out of money yet actually. It's 90% over-produced chav Fifa tournaments, who the fuck watches that

A "pro-gaming" tournament channel is an odd idea, they really should make it more of a general gaming channel with xleague events. It wouldn't cost the earth to employ genuinely knowledgeable folk like yourself to produce various features would it? They could have that lovely Lisa bird presenting it. I'd certainly watch.

It's nice to see any intelligent gaming chat on TV though. Although the Newsnight format makes me cringe somewhat

I'm sure they could find better people than Teh gamez animahl!!1 *cough* twat

Diamond is a decent presenter, its when producers start pretending the presenter is more than a casual player that you get problems.

Emily Booth is a semi-pro at DOA4 is she? Erm, OK! :?

It was all about Patrick Moore for me. I met him once but he was just back from the dentist so unable to speak, so sadly I didn't get babbled at in high speed. He didn't even give me a hint or cheat!

I also met a girl who claimed she won a golden joystick on the show, but I'm not sure....

Great job.

Too bad that most of the focus was on Geometry Wars.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

For us shmup fans you're right, but in reality Geometry Wars was the reason shmups got the mention at all. The game was listed as one we'd be reviewing on the show, and I used that as a reason to make 'the mainstream return of the 2D shooter' a discussion topic.

Of course I could have waffled for a whole show about bullet dodging.

Ok, I was able to watch 84% before it stopped working. Best bit of television I've seen in years, and I watch too much tv. Spadgy rules!

Cheers Prof!

In any other situation I'd hate to be on TV, but that show is basically like sitting talking shit down the pub. It's good for keeping your profile up as a journalist too.

David Jenkins that's on the show with me is a shmup head to, but I haven't managed to coax him onto here yet. Shame, as he's a witty, opinionated guy, in the best possible way.

I just recroded a show last week, where I snuck in a mention of Bangai-Oh Spirits, and there's some SFIV stuff. I think it went out on actually TV on Friday, so I'll put up the link as soon as it appears...

Right – there’s been a few shows since that last one where I talked about shmups, each of which I won’t burden you with here, but this is the latest, aand fairly decent, and it has my mate Leo who works for Capcom with some words on SFIV, and a quick Bangai-Oh Spirits mention, plus me making an utter dick of myself, which we no doubt like to see...

Here it is!

Hope you enjoy it if you do watch it...

Actually - any of the UK lot see my Bangai-O spirits review in the last Sunday's Observer - it would be great to get some honest feed back from genre experts! I do reviews of modern turd for that paper all the time, but getting realistic feedback when you're covering mainstream stuff is impossible.

I did also get Space Invaders Extreme in that national paper. The quest goes on!

Hopefully soon Skykid will be joining me at the Observer, even though he is so horrendously ugly I find it hard to look at him!
