PowerStrip settings for 24k arcade monitor 640x480

So I'm getting painfully frustrated trying to get my laptop displaying properly on my Pop'n Music cab, trying to figure out the best settings to get it running at 640x480 on 24k. 15k will work too, for some reason it doesn't show up right on the monitor either way. I'm tired of fucking around with it, help would be appreciated :/

I think it might have something to do with the monitor, 15k worked okay on my DDR machine monitor.

If you can't work it out with any software hacks, get an Extron Emotia scan converter vom eBay. They're $20-30 without PSU and will scan convert your 31khz VGA output to 15khz RGBs. It doesn't get any easier than this and you can even toggle between 240p and 480i via a switch on the front.

Do some monitors just not support everything properly? I tried taking my Linux box running StepMania for my DDR machine, it displays perfectly on the monitor in question, yet I can't get this one to at all.

Yes, that's a luxury Emotia model (with XGA input and RGBs and YUV output). Two years back I've written a whole lot about the Emotia units, you can read it here: http://scanlines.hazard-city.de/

What other monitors do you have ? 15khz and even more 24kHz are no standard PC signals and especially the notebook graphic chips can be extremely picky in which resolutions are supported and which are not.

Wow, great guide! I think I may have seen that before at some point, but well before I was able to use any of it. I think I'll pick up one of those Scan Converters regardless if I use it now; it looks like it does the job proper. Any lag to speak of?

All the cabs I've got have dual-res monitors of various make, don't remember them off the top of my head. Pop'n is the only one I have trouble with, and this looks like it'll solve my problems if it works.

Exactly what I want. What type of PSU does it take? I'm not sure what to look for. Sorry for all the n00b questions, this thing is just really intriguing me.

A PC power supply with +5V, +12V, -12V and GND.

pinout - looking at the end of the plug on the power supply and going clockwise:

+5V
+12V
GND
-12V
GND
