I was talking about the kit with a 51k starting price.

Starting price is irrelevant for such an item though. You could start if for a yen... it's going to finish in the same ballpark.

Whoops. I got sick of people hot linking so I added that man love wallpaper. There are probably still a few hidden gems through the sites I frequent. ;)

Posted this in the Cave 360 thread, but just incase you didn't see it... Tell Aksys you want them to bring it here. Apparently they've stated they have an interest in bringing Cave games here.

According to the latest Cave blog entry on Deathsmiles, they have a small group of 15 people handling the conversion of the game to 360. They talked about the planning of extra stuff to be put in the game, the game manual, promotion and business division. And also how they are thinking up 1000 points worth of achievements.

Plus this:
パッケージで大復活。
LiveでエスプガルーダⅡが、もしできるのならいいな~なんて思ったりしてます。

Seems like they are considering a Xbox Live release of Espgaluda 2.

Seems more like the one guy writing the blog expressing his personal interest in these two titles.

It would be nice if they did, though. I still think that one is underrated here.

cave are a business. if developing console ports is not worth it financially, you can't expect them to do it out of charity... :?

Meh - Thats quite enough -
Frustrations is all.

With deepest apologies to the folks of the shmups forums.

I am looking forward to Death Smiles for the 360. I am still disappointed about Otomedius getting delayed but I wait patiently as is the nature of video games - always getting postponed what have you.

Since i played it last weekend, i don't look forward to the port THAT much anymore.
It's a good game and all, but imo it's not as much fun as e.g. Muchi Muchi Pork or Futari.
And it really is the easiest Cave shooter so far - i got to the final level on my very first credit.

There are three difficulty levels, IIRC. I take it you played on the lowest?

i thought you can select it before every level, but can't e.g. take always the easiest level?!
it got it quite mixed up, mostly 2, some 1, some 3.

At most 2 at level 2 (one on stages x-1, one on stages x-2), and 2 on level 1 (same deal), and at least 2 stages at level 3. However, that is the easiest mode of the game - put it this way, it is the only Cave shooter I've 1CC'd, and that was after about 30-40 credits of play, tops.

(However, I raped the final boss with bombs, only played 4 stages at level 3, and avoided the extra stage like asian flu.)

Now, if you want a challenge, choose at least 5 stages at level 3 (OR the extra stage) for suicide bullets during the rest of the game (as from the fifth stage at level 3). Much more Cave-like :p

If you want a *real* challenge, choose at least 5 stages at level 3 AND the extra stage. You'll get the final stage in DEATH2 mode - fun times.

And if you want the ultimate challenge, go into the test menu, bump the rank up to 4, the enemy damage up to 5 (so collisions are as with bullets) and lives down to 1, disable continues, and set it to no extends. Then choose every stage at level 3, and do the extra stage, too. Still easy? :p

No need to upgrade the damages or rank level at the set up.
Just play all level at rank 3 and Extra stage and you get a very kick ass challenge to clear it.
At least you can choose some lower rank at the route and get extra stage, the castle will have more suicide bullets with that.
