How about "Capcom Collection 3"

Post by jochen »

Some weeks ago I started a thread asking you fellows
sending E-Mails to Irem if they would relase a collection
of their arcade-games (R-Type Leo and many others).

Now here is another try.

Capcom already released two collections of their arcade-games.
But - there are some games from Capcom that I still miss and
want to play on my PS2, Wii, PSP or even Xbox 360.

I think of games like :

1944, 19xx , Carrier Airwing, Alien vs Predator ( unlikely to happen
because of right issues), Willow ( see before ), Battle Circuit,
Red Earth/ Warzard, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs , Capcom Sports Club
( tennis is great - reminds me of Final match tennis on the pc-engine),
Progear ( ??), Final Fight II and III ( only SNES-releases).

What do you think ???

It's too bad which games they couldn't release due to licensing issues. Along with AvP and Willow like you said, also Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, UN Squadron, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Dungeons & Dragons Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara, and maybe more I can't remember. There's still a bunch of good games left, but that hurts (especially AvP, DDSOM, and Jojo).

Don't forget GigaWing.

I also support this idea.

Both jojo games, both D&D games and gigawing got ports.
Please let's for a change have a collection strictly with unported games.
Not this: "a game got released for almost all systems, but not my system, so I will start a petition". please.

I'm all for any arcade ports, I just hope the onez that never got any exposure will be included in collections

Agreed, that said can anyone name any more lesser known CPS1/2 games which would be good to include?

I hadn't heard of Capcom Sports Club until this thread.

Um, Powered Gear and Cyberbots along with Tenchi wo Kurau 1&2 are pretty obvious picks. I don't think they have enough to make a 3rd CCC though.

Mars Matrix would also be great, though if Giga Wing Generations on PS2 is any hint of the poor thing's bullet sprite limit, I think Takumi's great DC shmups might cause problems.

Already available on the PS2 in a collection (actually, 2 collections).

Agreeing with D. If they decide to make a CC3, put stuff on there that hasn't already seen a port.

One's Japan-only, the other is on PSP. So there's no reason to not add them on a CCC3 for the US.

Isn't the PSP release a mish-mash of the three Vampire games, rather than an actual compilation of them as separate entities?

Also, to be fair, the two PSP comps that already exist do include games that haven't been ported onto other systems previously (or, in some cases, received Japan-only ports).

I'd also like to see another collection with all non-ported games, but considering Capcom is the master of rehashing, it's likely that several of the games would already have ports.

Aside from several already mentioned, The Punisher. Yes, I know there'd be licensing issues. Still.

Yeah, it's a mish-mash, a lot like the Dreamcast game Vampire Chronicle for Matching Service from what I've read. I'd prefer to have each game on it's own myself... like what Capcom did for the PS2 in Japan.

Yeah, it's a mish-mash, exactly like the Dreamcast game Vampire Chronicle for Matching Service. I'd prefer to have each game on it's own myself... like what Capcom did for the PS2 in Japan.
Fixed.

Of all the games listed so far, the UN Squadron would be the shoot 'em up that needs to get ported first. Capcom loves these collections, and loves to re-release everything five times over, so I haven't the slightest why we aren't already playing Capcom Classics Collection Volume Eight right now.

Hello,

ist there a chance in the near future that a "Capcom
Collection 3" will be released.

Capcom games like 1944, 19xx, Carrier Airwing,
Red Earth/Warzard, Capcom Sports Club, Progear,
Battle Circuit, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs haven´t
been releasend on any console in the past - at
least to my knowledge.

I have started a thread on "shmups.com" and I hope
you might get more Mails about this issue in the
near future.

Please excuse my ( surely not perfect ) english
and thanks for your time and efforts. Many more
thanks if " Capcom Collection 3 " appears on a
console.

Greetings from germany

Jochen Seubert

This is the E-Mail I sent today to "Capcom.com".

After creating an account you can post your question under
"support".

I ´ve sent my to question to Capcom.USA - don´t wanna trouble
the Capcom-workers in japan with my limited english.

So - I hope that the ones of you that have the same interest like
me that this collection will see a release write an nice Mail to
Capcom.

Invest a little time and maybe this time we will have success.

Thanks

Jochen.

While we're at it, why not a Taito Legends 3 as well, to pick up what's left off the Taito Memories packs we didn't get on the other two Taito Legends packs.

But yes a Capcom Classics Collection 3 would be nice as well.

Put the G.I. Joe games in there, if only TAF.

On 9/24/2008 you posed a question to CAPCOM Customer Support which was noted as inquiry 8482.Response:

Hello Jochen,

There has been no announcement on the release of any new Capcom Collections game coming to any console platform. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

CAPCOM Customer Support

Here is the answer I got yesterday from Capcom. It seems ... no plans
for a new Capcom Collection.

So - after posting answers in this thread don´t forget to send
E-Mails to Capcom. Maybe .... they change their mind.

Allthough I prefer "Hardware" to hold in my hand ... CD, DVD, Cartridge
....

maybe it is more realistic to hope for downloadable releases
of arcade-games on the Wii-Virtual-Console.

Capcom is a large game company; their customer service won't tell you anything that hasn't been stated in a press release...

Anyway, they really don't have enough unlicensed arcade games left that appeal to an average US customer; you all haven't even come up with 10 decent games yet.
