Man, I thought the electoral college was completely unfair, check this out:

Well, it's only unfair if you view the nation from a federalist or populist point of view. If you have a strong leaning towards state rights (since we are after all the United States of America and not the State of America) and a disassociation from the central government even at the cost of ideal individual representation, then it would seem to be quite justified.
