PS2 on VGA Monitor

Post by Frederik »

Okay, this is my first hardware related topic and I´m pretty much a total tech idiot when it comes to graphic hardware, so please point me to a specific thread if this is already covered (which it likely is) and lock this thread

It´s pretty simple: I bought a PAL PS2 that I´m going to use Swap Magic on to play Cave ports. My TV is a piece of trash so I want to connect my PS2 to a (TFT) VGA monitor. So I need a VGA box, right? Is there any recommendation? I didn´t do much research yet as I was a bit confused on what I actually need, so I just looked what pops up on Amazon and it doesn´t look very promising, judging from the user reviews.

Please recommend me a good device that does that for me. It´s pretty unlikely that I will want to connect any other consoles to my monitor as I´m already spending more money than I should, so it´s very specifially PAL console + Swap Magic + Cave ports + VGA monitor. Thanks in advance :)

All your possibilites: http://retrogaming.hazard-city.de/

You can buy my XRGB2+.

If your VGA monitor can't handle 50Hz (and that's likely) then you won't get a picture during the bootup. Only when the import game finally comes up. Might get tricky with the Swap Magic thing without any picture.

Have you read the thread that Fudoh made about the HD Box
Pro? Might be what you need.

I picked one up and I must say that the picture was great for the cost.
