Speedway and 31st, eh? That's only a couple of blocks from my old apartment, and not too far from my current digs.

And me with a day off...

Thanks for the heads up on this. I'll post my impressions later if I can drag my lazy ass out the door.

I used to live at 30th and Guadalupe. Total shit hole, but it was nice to be close to everything. Of course, back then, I could walk down to one of two arcade's on the drag.

Yeah i used to go to Einsteins once in a while. Usually late at night and pretty drunk. There was another arcade down the block from it but its been like ten years since i went there...pretty sure it closed down.

Yeah, that was it. AFAIK, Einstein's lasted a while longer, but is now gone. Ah, the drag. Does it still have 15 year old punks trying to bum dough off of everyone?

I havent been to the drag in a few years or so but i imagine they are still there. Its not the drag without them, they seem to be a permanent fixture lol.

A few years? How can you live in Austin and not find yourself down there every now and again? At least was the case with me, but I was a student most of my time there. What's in place of Tower Records now that they've gone tits-up in the US.

I live in between two very large ones (Shibuya & Shinjuku). AFAIK, Tower Japan broke off years ago though, hence they're still here.

Nah. Now they're all 25-35, which makes them that much more annoying.

A college bookstore. Can't remember, but I think it was University Co-op related.

Oh, on topic, I was too lazy to check the place out. I played Dodonpachi on my JPS2 while drunk instead.

I havent live in Austin for several years now. I moved out in the country pretty much in Brenham, then to Houston with my ex. Only went back every so often for shows and stuff. Id like to move back one day though. I think Austin is my favorite city to live. At the least i wouldnt be freezing my balls off already.

Austin is the only livable city in Texas, as far as I'm concerned. It's tiny compared to most large American cities, but so much more fun and hip than almost all of them.

Barton Springs in the summer... nothing beats 105 degree heat like jumping in 68 degree water (which is fucking cold once you get in).

I was in Austin for a conference once. I think Bush was still there at the time, not sure. Awesome place. College town feel in a way, but more than a town-- in a good way.

As for the arcade, I would love to check out 'Galuda 2. I think a few pinball tables would be a good idea.
