For those with Nintendo Wii.

What VC shmups are you enjoying most as of late? :D
Many of us have the original carts but it is great so see such support for shmups on the VC. I've really been enjoying the "Soldier" games. Just picked up Final Soldier tonight and loved it.

I don't want this to turn into a console war discussion. This thread is only about Wii VC shmups.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Soldier Blade, Gradius III, that's about it. I have others but those are the two I really like.

Sin & Punishment is a borderliner at best but I think it's also worth a mention considering how shmuppy it is.

Definitely R-Type III. It was my favorite SNES shoot 'em up back when I had the game (cartridge was ruined), and I'm delighted to have it again.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Hudson and Compile "Soldier" style shooters seem to be multiplying on my Wii for some weird reason. Every time I boot it up there's another one on there. I think I'm an addict.

Outside of them, I've got R-Type 3 on SNES, Gleylancer on MD, Lords of Thunder on PCE/CD. Plenty more I'm planning on grabbing, but I've told myself that I need to finish one before grabbing another.

Excellent topic, but, yeah, there's already a thread devoted to this. My favorites are Zanac and the R-Type games. However, the real bonuses are the games I didn't already own like Gley Lancer and Cho Aniki. I've been on a cute-em-up kick so it's nice to see Super Fantasy Zone and Star Parodier are available, though I have these titles already.
