They're selling for arcade stick prices now. That's not such great value.

Using a controller? This is pure madness.
I bought mine to scrub the toilet clean.
You don't even want to know what I do with my Sega merchandise.

I bought them entirely for the purchase of reselling.

This entire ordeal was predicted.

I got mine in the mail.
For a "bootleg", it's so damn fine.

I did a side-by-side comparison with my original Saturn USB pad. If I wasn't familiar with mine I wouldn't be able to tell any difference.

As it stands, the only things I've noticed:

D-pad feels only slightly different because it hasn't been broken in.
Triggers may be different. They're just as "clicky" and just as responsive. They may sound slightly more hollow.
The cord isn't as flexible as my original.

I'm going to go ahead and attribute all these things to not being broken in. I've had mine since 2005, so it's been used quite a bit. The D-pad is just as good, the buttons are just as good, and the quality seems to be the same. This is, quite honestly, too good to be true.

I bought one of the listings where you had to tell the seller which color you wanted (white, gray, or black). I sent him a message telling him I want the black one. His response:
black color is temporary out of stock
we will try to get more in about 3 days
Hmm, so it seems like they are getting a supply from somewhere rather than just selling "what they got."

The saga continues...

BTW:

My original USB pad has a model number ISS-5001-02

The two I recieved recently have a model number of ISS-5001-01

If the pads are legit, they're older (I assume) than the one I have. That would explain any differences.

This is frustrating, I want but I'm reluctant to pay £25 + customs per pad when the same bloke was selling 'em for 15 less just a few weeks back. Ah old supply and demand eh. I'm quite sure these are still being produced anyway, if only I could get in touch with a distributor.

I received mine from Jockel today and it´s brilliant. I don´t have my old one around anymore (beer death), but this feel exactly like I remember. If this is a bootleg, then it´s the most astonishing bootleg I´ve seen so far; which means that it´s probably legit.

I'm going to order a White (with colored buttons) one this week, I can't wait. It will rejuvenate MAME for me in a big way I'm thinking as I've practically given myself arthritis by playing on keyboard (which really is decent especially for freaks like me who grew up playing C64 shmups with a keyboard waaay back in the day.

Oh, and why are people bitching about the price, these went for $40+shipping on play-asia when they were in stock and that was YEARS AGO, unless I'm mistaken, which I am not.

I think people are bitchy about the prices since they were going for only around $10 a pad when they were first listed on ebay, stupid people drove the prices up (there were BINs for x2 pads for like $40 and people were putting in bids of $50+ in other auctions).
I think those people were looking to buy to resell anyway.

If push came to shove I wouldn't mind spending $40 on a single pad but I was lucky enough to grab 2 at that price before the prices went sky high, if you've paid attention to ebay for the last week you'd have noticed that that only a couple pads have been bought, people aren't touching them at the price they're at now, you can either wait a month and see the prices drop again or you can just get one now if you're that eager to get your hands on one of the best controllers ever made.

From what I've experienced so far, these pads seem to have an issue when pressing them in the center. Has anyone else noticed this (apart from nimitz in irc)? My other Saturn pads feel fine in comparison.

Well, actual Saturn controllers have a glitch that happens when you press the center of the d-pad.

I think the original low price was a mistake on the seller's part. They didn't know what the stuff they had was worth. I'd say they're happy to sell these for $20 each from now on.

I've had my pad for a few weeks now, nice and sturdy just like my real Saturn pad, also what's this d-pad glitch?

When in Control Panel/Gamepads and Mame my pad allows you to rock between all eight directions while pushing straight in. If I hadn't explicitly tested it I never would have known. My original does the same thing.
