hey guys, guess what.

..so i was coming home from the nintendo world store event [NP magazine's 20'th anniversary], where i decided to stop by a game stop across the street from my house.

so i was rummaging through their used marked down stuff for a few minutes, where i stumbled upon...[get ready]...Gradius 5, at $9.99! i checked the disc, and there was a few tiny scratches, nothing horrible.

so i bought it, and when i got home, i examined it, and it turns out half the scratches were stains of some sort. so i windexed it up, and popped it in. works perfectly  .

..now back to calc 3 homework.

Hey that's great. There was a period of time when the game was 19.99 brand new. I suppose half off is a great deal. I've not seen this game sold used much meaning the people who purchase it must keep it.

You will find that it is a wonderful game and will always kick you when you are down then offer you a hand only to break your wrist.

No, this game is not Space Invaders.

I already knew it was good, but now I must own it.

naw, i've played it a few times at my friend's house before. he got the game late, only a few years ago, on amazon.com for around $50.

so he's vowing to kill me next time he sees me.

The original U.S. MSRP of Gradius V was $29.99. Your friend paid too much for his copy. Back in September of 2004, Gamestop was practically giving away such cool Gradius V promotional DVDs for free just for the asking (you didn't need to pre-order the USA version of Gradius V to get it). Some Gamestop locations got in a few copies to distribute. It was on a first come, first served basis. Plus, it was possible to get more than one copy if you visited more than one Gamestop location during that same timeframe. ^_~

But surely this was news worth its own topic!

FWIW, I saved $80 on Space Manbow (relative to the asking price), goodness knows how much in the end based on its appropriate "market value." Fun game too.

not to toot my own horn here, but i decided to push my luck yesterday :D .

all in the same game stop, i found raiden 3 [new] at $14.99, r-type final at $9.99, and mobile light force 2 at $3.99. only the manager understood why i was going nuts, lol.

I don't care what they say about R-Type Final, it is a decent game and at that price is is a great value. Awesome snag on MLF 2. Raiden III is great too even if the ship is a bit slow. These games are all pretty good given excellent prices.

yeah, i'm loving r-type final. y'know, minus having to memorize what every aspect of each ship does.

time to start saving for Thunderforce 6, I'm betting we won't see a US release... hopefully I'm wrong.
