Psyvariar "The Mix"

Post by zinger »

The Mix is an official remix album for Psyvariar and Psyvariar 2 that will be released on august 15. Remixers include Manabu Namiki, TECHNOuchi, WASi303 (original Psyvariar composer) Ryu Umemoto, me (!!) and several other great game or chip musicians.

Sample clips from all tracks, enjoy:

Nice! I love the music in both Psyvariar games. So this here is a major plus. Thanks for the info, zinger.

It's about damn time that another Psyvariar Music CD appears.

I see that WASi303 aka Tatsuro Saito (the guy who did some the music from Psyvariar Medium Unit, Psyvariar Revision and Psyvariar 2: The Will to Fabricate) will be adding his flavor of techno tunes to this upcoming Psyvariar "The Mix" CD compliation. ^_~

It's cool that a Taito G-Net mobo can handle a pair of 100w speakers hooked up directly to it when playing either Taito G-Cards of Psy-MU or Psy-R's cool BGM tunes without breaking a sweat. Give it a shot sometime with yours. Taito designed it's G-Net mobo from the ground up with some serious powerful stereo sound output, indeed.

Will Success and Skonec be willing to do Psyvariar 3 arcade shmup game with some more of that cool techno music featured in the three earlier Psy-MU, Psy-R & Psy-2:TWTF arcade game releases? It's about time they did so, perhaps with some all new designed mecha to pilot and kick some ass while "Buzzing" at the same time.

That Psyvariar "The Mix" T-Shirt looks ace. Kinda pricey at the asking price of 3,500 yen though. And just 100 of those limited T-Shirts up for sale? Mighty slim pickings if you were to ask me -- better get in line pronto if you want one for your shmup T-Shirt collection.

Ever notice that the so-called "battle axe" that the Psy-2 mecha suit is holding is none other than a cool Psyvariar fighter craft in disguise (shown on the front cover of the music CD cover)? Very clever. ^_~

Can someone rip that cool sample YouTube Psyvariar "The Mix" music into an MP3?

You can hear it on his myspace page too: http://www.myspace.com/technouchi, but buying the CD is of course the only way to get it in high quality.

Interesting logic. I think I just tell him that I wouldn't have bought it anyway but that's maybe just me.

Interesting, Psyvariar had some great tunes so I'm keen on buying this one eventually. I think badmouthing the european arcade scene or euroshumps in that interview was a bit uncalled for, but whatever.

I especially like how he pretends that it's a fact or something that all western shooting games suck designwise...and then goes on to talk about "anyone open-minded". Apidya, Uridium 2, Super Stardust HD - guess they never happened

Is amusement-center selling this on their site as a download or only as a CD?

CD only, and currently only for Japanese customers. Westerners need to turn to amazon or Play-asia.

Was that in one of the interviews? Didn't spot it.

Anyway - I'll be buying this, what with stealing through a torrent being worse than normal when a fellow forum member is involved.

I liked what I heard Zinger!

"I hope you can appreciate the poor game design (try any Western STG for a good laugh!) at least as a socilogical phenomena [laughs] and respect the large number of high quality Western games in other genres."

Cheers Necronom - I missed that in my haste.

Zinger - I like the way that in your picture with the interview you are sitting on a cold stone wall next to a mountain of comfortable cushions!

Ehi Zinger, do you guys sell this only via play-asia? I'd prefer other means, could you help on this?

"Earth" is one of my favorite tracks. And I'm willing to bet the remix of it is really good. I think I'll be buying this very soon.

Uh, why? There are several options for Japanese, but Play-Asia and amazon are currently the only companies dealing with overseas customers.

I think amazon JP is more of a hassle than P-A though: http://www.amazon.co.jp/PSYVARIAR-TECHN ... 408&sr=8-4

If that's no good either, PM me and we might be able to work out something else...

Actually those are metal cushions, probably much colder, harder and less comfortable than the concrete wall I'm sitting on. :)
