Ikaruga review now up in PLASMA BLOSSOM
I wonder this myself too.zinger wrote:For what reason do we have a forum if we only use it for stupid polls about which trees, clouds or ships look the best in a shooter? That might be something we point out to our friends while playing, but why bother making a thread about this?

There are three kinds of stupid posts. Those that are stupid. Those that point out how stupid the stupid post is. Then there's this one that points out how stupid stupid post bitching is. There is no post bitching about bitching about stupid posts because, well, that's just stupid.

The music is here inside my soul. Great stuff.black mariah wrote:Dangun Feveron, BTW.FEEEEEVERR!
I'm fond of Fire Shark, because I enjoy watching the little green men walk around on the ground between some of the levels. For quite a while, I thought they were birds, and I could not for the life of my understand what they were doing on the ground, fixing planes. Then one day it dawned on me that they were mechanics.

Aw, come on Spec I think I deserve more credit. I mean, tricking the whole forum into thinking Border Down came early and was crap... now that's what I'm good at. But those days are over. My little Loki is dead.Specineff wrote:Aw, I was just about to ask about your "Favorite Taco Truck in a Shmup?"
EDIT: 8.5, if this is you pulling off another of your shenanigans, it's time to come clean on it. Come on, admit it. It just *HAS* to be you.
FULL LOCK is BOMB
Screw you guys. I play shmups because I really appreciate how cool some tree on the ground may look (I mean, I think posts can get dumb, too, but for me it's like this-- Play Shmups= be 13 again= be 13 in the year 3000= imagine flying space jets= enjoy the finest art ever, "Shmups", expressing the primitive mind at it finest= reflex, survival, destruction, all in an easthetic context, rather than an urbane context (like playing football or running track, for example, which are similar enough), which actually makes the look of the trees or the score screen really important! Shmups are fine art, not games! I like to study them critically as art, too.)
And to anwer the original post, I like Shienryu's "dddddddddddding!" of the LEDs counting up.

Yeah, I see youre point- I guess it comes down to where you draw the line between blabbing about shmups and keeping the more subtle stuff to yourself (and keeping the forum cleaner). I don't mind blabbing, and endulging in some recreational shmup talk.zinger wrote:But what exactly does these name dropping threads have to give? I mean, do you write down the titles of the games so that you can look them up whenever you want some stage clear score summary screen action?
You know, is the forum a hangout or a database? (I agree that the two don't mix so well, would love a database, and enjoy the hangout sometimes.) I think, ideally, that there should be more sub-forums, so there'd be less stuff to wade through? (just blabbing now I guess, sorry, but it's a good point if people are frustrated with the forums content)
