Star Wars: Rebel Assault for Sega CD...

Post by dave4shmups »

I've played PS1 Rebel Assault II, and the controls were horrible. Is Rebel Assault for the Sega CD any better/is it worth picking up?

I heard that Rebel Assault II fixed whatever was wrong with the first one. So I guess there must have been something wrong with it, besides the grainy FMV.

It's not half bad, and rather cheap.

Yikes! If that's true, it's scary as bad as II is! I don't yet have a Sega CD unit for my Genesis Model 2. I want to get one of the top-loaders, but they're pricey on Ebay, and www.4jays.com is out of them.

Games like Rebel Assault II and The Hive would've been fine, IMO, had they stayed ON rails, instead of the parts where you control a ship. Honestly, grainy graphics aside, the parts that are on rails in both of those games aren't too bad. Although they're both no Starblade.

I had both of the Rebel Assault games on the PC when I was a kid, and even though I was dumb/young/geeky enough to like Rebel Assault II the first was awful even to me. never ran right either, and since when does Hoth come before blowing up the Death Star?

from what little I remember it didn't control as smoothly as Rebel Assault II, which wasn't exactly a dream either.

Correction, it's more bad. read4comprendes

Although I loved Rebel Assault II on the PSX. I should go buy both of them, before the price skyrockets.

Absolutely no reason to get the grainy Sega CD version when you can get the superior PC version. It's pretty remarkable how disappointing Rebel Assault was for a LucasArts title. But ah, the days when new Star Wars footage was actually something to behold rather than the milk it is now...
