when it told me to Try Again, I thought there would be something special another time thru. Guess not!
Love this game so very, very much though. It's pretty easy (on Normal, at least), until the last level -- it's like a test of mettle for the player, as if Irem figured anyone could play thru the first 6 levels, but it'd take a true, a-number 1 kind of guy to beat all of it!
I'd love to see someone beat it at the arcade back when it was released. Took me damn near three hours at home.

^Are you talking about beating the first loop (Stage 7) or the Last True Stage - Stage 14? In which case, I failed in the late 80s , dying on Stage 14 before the 2nd loop Boss.
I have recently watched a nico replay of a 2-ALL and I think I can now get past that trouble spot on Stage 14 with the erratic balls that don't die. Its mostly about being aggressive at the front of the screen. Not easy though, if you die there its game over, no recovery from that point.
