My first question, is there any early version of Fraps that allows for vids longer than 30 seconds? I'm not going to pay 37 dollars for the new version.
Once I've made a video it seems that youtube will not accept the .avi file Fraps makes.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.
so long and tanks for all the spacefish unban shw <Megalixir> now that i know garegga is faggot central i can disregard it entirely
<Megalixir> i'm stuck in a hobby with gays
I'm not asking for anything illegal. I just want to know if an earlier version has longer recording times for the free version. And how to add vids from it to youtube since they don't want to upload.

Try HyperCam2 instead. It lets you record forever, the quality is great and you can upload the videos on youtube. The only drawback is the hypercam banner it puts on the corner.

FRAPS makes video as huge, uncompressed avi. You should compress the audio and video first with another program. Try VirtualDub. I typically use XviD for all my video compression, and MPEG layer-3 for audio compression.
Of course, that's just an opinion. Always seeking netplay fans to play emulated arcade games with.
erm which one eats less resources? it's an absolute mess with Fraps.
i can't even record a mame replay to avi on a freaking 4200+ Dual Core CPU, 2 GB DDR2-800 RAM, 512MB Radeon HD2600XT with satisfying results >.>

You don't need an external application like FRAPS to record MAME output. MAME can record its video output to MNG and audio output to WAV, and recent versions also have AVI recording built in so that you can get both in one file (though the AVI is totally uncompressed, so it gets huge very quickly and you'll want to reencode it to a reasonable size before using it for anything)
