This game is very solid. The online play is pretty intense and most importantly engaging and fun. At the present time it just lacks a community. Very much similar to the game subspace (the game not teh community).

Unlike most XBLA games, this has a well-written and non-cheesy storyline. The game play is great, with the whole combo system up to x 10. There is a score attack mode as well as adventure mode, leaving some nice replay value.

I am not affiliated with this game but this is by far one of the better space shooters ive seen in a long while.

And if the community does get bigger Crunchtime plans to hold a pretty nice $$$ tourney for all three modes.

It's a shame xbox is not promoting this game more.

the controls may seem awkward at first with all the twin stick shooters, but if you are a fan of retro games, youll pick it up quickly.

I'm aware of it, but I'm not all that interested in it to be honest. I get the impression that it's rather generic overall from the videos I've watched of it. Also, it seems to completely rely on the online multiplayer functionality which is kind of bad for an XBLA title. The longevity of XBLA games that utilize online are just short lived no matter how good they are. The fact that it's already lacking a community is a pretty bad sign.

After this slew of really top notch games that we've seen for XBLA, this one just comes off as extremely mediocre looking.

The way the levels are set up I feel like I am supposed to be exploring, but the screen restricts my view as if it were simply an arena shooter. I'm a little confused by it. I suppose if I got better with the controls it could get fun just to pilot the ship around, but for now I'm a little confused with the game. I just have the demo so I have no idea if it changes beyond what the demo offers.

I've never even played Subspace, so that reference is beyond me.

I did play SF2HF when it was in arcades, but SF this is not.

id say its more of a wide-open arena shooter. Since the maps are pretty big.

I can understand this point. At times the maps are a bit much. But, you do not have to explore. There is the option to explore to find all the destructables, crystals and even bosses.

I dont know if its generic. Its hard not to be generic in this area, but i wouldnt use the word generic for it.

Also as i mentioned eariler, there is a score attack mode. I would say the game is extended for multiplayer, but there are so many ways to ef up or increase your score in single player and score attack. I would say the game is more built around score than it is multiplayer.

I was more so referring to the aesthetic style of the game itself. I haven't played it, so I really can't comment on what I think of the gameplay.

I haven't seen any vids of score attack or even a mention of there being a scoring mechanic of some sort, so it's pretty misleading reading about this game or watching videos of it because you automatically assume it's a multiplayer arena shooter first and foremost, not the other way around. Can you elaborate on the intricacies of how the scoring works?

This is actually the problem I have with the game as well...it's almost like playing Asteroids...only you can't see the asteroids that you're flying towards until you run straight into them. I really wish they'd gone with a 3/4 view or something else. Sure the game can be intense, but I can't see half of what I'm fighting most of the time and it really detracts from the experience.
