Xevious in Japan

Post by doctorx0079 »

Can anyone in Japan tell us just how big Xevious is?? Have you seen this movie or album I've heard about? Are they seriously making a Xevious RTS?? Apparently there really is a Xevi language that they made up, I've heard the song. Looks like Mr. Endoh also wrote a Xevious novel. Tell us about the Xevious stuff over there.

Xevious is cool. I can without any sort of hesitation that I would read a Xevious novel. In fact, I would write a Xevious novel if someone asked me nicely enough.

I remember seeing a flyer of the movie but never seen footage of it. I wonder if it's any good.

There's definitely a Xevious language, you might want to check out MSX2 port and watch the ending credits. Each letter of a person's name corresponds to alphabet of Xevious language. Like a rosetta stone.

I know also that the original XE-1 joystick by micomsoft got its name from Xevious hence the "XE".

That is awesome. It would be so cool to have a custom shmup joystick, designed by world-record holders, with special artwork and stuff. Actually that's what Capcom is trying to do with Street Fighter IV.

Most of my Xevious info is from this article.

All the Micomsoft stuff (that I've seen/encountered) is basic but functionally design-oriented as far as the styling goes.

That's what I figured but a deluxe Xevious stick would still be cool though.
