euhm.... those are kind of wicked patterns that get thrown at the player guess what he is doing is the only thing that is effective against it?

The dodge at 1:50 is the most impressive bit. Truly amazing shmup gameplay.

Wow. I felt a renewed love for all gaming while watching this video. Whoever made this game is clearly a genius and all other game developers should follow this person's example. The truly is amazing.

There's the log from last night.

We've been trying to help him whenever he comes in the channel, but he's pretty hard headed. I think he could do something decent if he would actually listen since he is capable of coding, but the chances of that happening...?

bosstest1 is the one in the video.
ps2a4 is his 'full game' with bosses at waves 10/30/60
ps2a4-2 is his full game again, with a wave 30 boss change and the addition of a wave 100 boss, maybe some other changes too.

Something tells me that no amount of listening can help this person. When you would decide by yourself that something like the OP is even vaguely interesting/fun, you've probably got no hope...

I didn't want to be a jerk, but the "game" is garbage. Everything about it sucks, it should be thrown away and rewritten from scratch, preferably in Not Java.

I like how you concistently advised him to play some shmups, although he insisted it's enough to just watch them.
I wish him luck with the game but this is priceless.

Will this game be included in doujin week now?

Overlapping 2 spinny patterns is not exactly what I would classify as bullet hell..

This is a shmup that rewards patience.

If this is a game, this must be the most boring game I've ever seen. Pong has more variety than this. Pong is just two lines and a ball. This looks like some beginner's tutorial for BulletML. "Play around with these ten lines and make the bullets spray in the other direction, or try changing the color from all blue to all red." Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think in a boss fight the boss is supposed to change patterns about every ten seconds, and then you work your way around or through the patterns. But I guess you might not notice that if you've never played a shmup with a boss in it. Also, if you can "play" the game for 3-plus minutes and nothing changes, there's something really wrong there. It's kind of like watching rain, except you don't have to install any programs to get rain, or pay for it where I live, it just falls for free. Actually, what it's really like is watching a lawn sprinkler, the kind that don't move. Wheeeeeeee.

It doesn't get your heart racing or anything, it just kinda goes fssss fssss fssss fssss fssss fssss fssss fssss fssss fssss all day.

If this is some psychedelic thing intended to hypnotize me, I think it almost worked.

I'm still laughing about the lawn sprinkler thing.

Sometimes I just kill me. :)
