Don't really like horizontal shooters.. but I'll check it out anyway. The boss music is great.

I wonder if Ketsui and Death Smiles will drop after the ports. I'd love to have the PCBs but if the ports are actually GOOD I might have to deal with them.

If the ports make the PCBs drop though... I might be tempted considering how the ports are ect. I blew 800.00 on Mushi and LOVE it even though I had the PS2 port beforehand. I love that game and I HATE interlaced filtering to a foolish OCD extreme.

I doubt i'll even get to play this, since I don't have a Japanese 360, but you know...Cave have a history of making lackluster ports. I sense a lot of excitement mixed with disappointment whenever this comes out.

I hope the Ketsui game is region free...but I doubt it.

It's featured in this month(week?) Famitsu Xbox360 as well.

It's not just Black Label... it's MEGA BLACK LABEL.

It adds a new character and a new stage.

Yes they have. They made the Saturn DP and DDP ports along with the PS2 Mushi and Ibara ports. They didn't publish any of those, though.

I thought it was Taito who ported them... those ports where worser than the PCB Original. Arika did the better job before.

No, CAVE ported. Taito published.

Those ports get so much flak that if I didn't own them I would assume you fly backwards or something. They are not perfect, but honestly I would be contented if the Death Smiles one was the same quality.

If you're not one that plays meticulously for high score, then it's only natural that you wouldn't. Playable? Yes. But hey, when only a few games you like come out a year, there's no harm being critical of them.

I think the complete opposite applies ^^
IMO we can be grateful to receive ports of incredible games in the first place.
But of course i understand your point.

If there were tons of top games coming out, I'd just chuck the shit ones, move on, and not worry. These days there's almost never a new release I want, so I'm going to go over it w/ a fine toothed comb.

I think it’s a fair dig if you're at an exceptionally high level of play and there are changes that stop you being competitive. But the most frequently cited reasons are the graphics looking a bit funky, opposed to errors like the badly emulated slowdown.

I do see your point, but I’m more of the “beggars can’t be choosers” mindset myself.

According to gamefront.de the 360 arcade will see a price cut on 9-11 down to 19.800 Yen (around €125). Well chosen date btw, there's nothing like good marketing!
So now getting a 360 in Japan is even cheaper than getting a PS2 or DS in Europe. It's an unfair world...

Now Death Smiles too...

It's becoming more inevitable that I am going to have to buy a second 360 (even if only for the cave games).

BTW: Does anyone know if I can use the hard drive from my US 360 with a JP 360?

keep in mind that a US games are almost never region locked. dark sector and phantasy star universe are the only ones I wanted and were locked.

even then I could have bought the asian Dark Sector (I just got the PS3 version). you can get by on just a japanese console.

Oh...It says there will be a normal and limited edition of the game, plus freebies if you preorder from Japan.

183 dollars for a 360 in japan. Very nice price cut. I too am leaning on getting another 360. Microsoft is trying to make a push for sales in japan. Goodluck.

Yeah, it is. In fact, if I can get a good deal on shipping and I don't get raped by customs, I think I can prolly get this cheaper from Japan than I could get it in the UK

Have fun. Feeling a bit sorry for people who bought the kit for 100k+ though. This price drop is ridiculous.

That price (51K) is the start of a 6 day auction. If you think it will stay around that price you are crazy. I'm sure it will drop, but probably just 10-20K shy of 100K.

This one sold for 100,000yen a few days ago (after the port announcement):

http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n68595466

Another one with tape all over the box and pen markings on the poster sold for 88,000yen, and one that came with the DVD sold for 96K yen. Again, both in the past few days, after the port announcement. Still hasn't been a bare PCB under 75K yen yet.

The brand new one w/ poster for 95K yen right now is a really good deal. I'd snatch that up if I didn't already have the game.

What I meant was, you wouldn't find these listed at such a starting price prior to this announcement.

Yes you would. Plenty new kits went for 100,000 yen BIN, and even more for 110,000. You just had to be lucky b/c they were for a low BIN price.

I think now you'll find more used ones, if anything.
