Yep, would love to see it too. Digital preservation of perfect run footage now! Those VHS tapes rot very fast. We're counting on you Sven

Why? R-Type is a much more difficult game than Darius 2.

Why not? One can ask right? You never know, there are nice people out there who like to share and since it's a VHS tape, a digital copy will be necessary sooner or later anyway

I just started playing R-Type. A DVDR copy of a perfect run would be excellent if you can make that happen...

Sven said that it isn't really a perfect run... just a collage of the 1 credit run. Runtime is around 20min

Sounds like an edited perfect run that concentrates on the most difficult parts. Still a perfect run in my book.
20 minutes? Shouldn't take too long to encode then

Even better, send me a copy, and I'll put it on Rapidshare/Megaupload/Sendspace so everyone can get it easily!

dead end is at stage 7... if you die once you won't have a chance imo.

Not impossible. I've gotten past the checkpoint after dying, during a 1CC, before.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

perfect run in R-TYPE means completing the 2 loops right? Does R-TYPE stop after 2 loops?

I'd like to see someone getting past Lvl 11 boss (= lvl5 loop2) in video. Definitely.
