I believe humans are incapable of understanding the existence of a god. Does that still make me atheist? It's not just ignorance but incapability.

It doesn't necessarily make you an atheist, but I don't think it allows for theism, at least not readily. This would make for a really interesting discussion, because it brings up loads of questions.

I just don't care enough to risk any sympathies.
You see, in most cases, when the discussion is about personal beliefs, it's ending in an ugly way.
Because people tend to stay on their side of things and don't consider a repositioning.
This ruins the main reason for discussions in the first place,
because almost everybody will stick to his opinion.
In the end it just results in hate, i don't want that.
So i may point out a few things here and there, but i try to not get involved too much.

IMO, atheism does not qualify as a belief system in the first place, so it cannot be compared to religiosity in the way n00b attempts. Neither is it some glorious intellectual achievement, or badge of moral superiority (since it addresses no particular moral issues). Millitant atheists can indeed be as irksome as monotheistic fundamentalists, but please don't call me a nazi simply because neither Hitler nor myself ever gave credence to FSM. The fact two people might share the same lack-of-belief tells us pretty much nothing useful. As was stated above, it's the actions that count.

My favorites are the ones on Youtube that are certain that the second plane never hit WTC, that it was some amazingly orchestrated media screwjob with live computer animation on every channel. Why?
