Maybe we'll be getting that SNK Classics Collection after all! :D I thought it was canned, since it's still listed as "TBA 2005" on IGN's PS2 Release Dates site, but this report gives me renewed hope! :D

I hope it's a collection and not just TSS, which already has two ports. Pulstar and Blazing Star, please.

I assume this was in reference to TSS: La Petite Princesse, the upcoming remake/sequel/whatever. (See also this thread.)

The bad news is that this is not a collection. The good news is that this is not a port, it is basically a entirely new game :)

I agree though that we need a Pulstar and Blazing Star port. Anyone know if SNKP or Yumekobo has the rights to those games? If Yumekobo has the rights then we will likely never see a port :(

Yeah,I saw it at the SNK-Playmore booth,and it was definitely the La Petite Princess version.

Blazing Star = Yumekobo
Pulstar = Aicom

I don't really know how much of the liscnecing end SNK holds for either of these games.

When Japanese companies go under (or are dissolved for other reasons) the rights for their properties are usually distributed among the upper-level employees. This makes acquiring old properties problematic, as one person owns the character designs, another the mechanical designs, another the music... etc. It's not like the US where one person or one group is the designated owner of the property.

Odds of anyone going and collecting all the rights to these games again is pretty low in all honesty. I'd be thrilled to see it happen too, but I really don't think it'll happen.

Aicom was bought by SNK long ago and Yumekobo was always SNK. This has been explained lots of times here before.

Thanks that really cleared things up :). So if SNK Playmore has the rights to Blazing Star and Pulstar, then with a bit of luck we will eventually get a port. I'm really happy about the soon to be released KOF and Last Blade packs, and if those sell I would not be surprised if we eventually get all SNK's shooters ported too :)
