Cave's new shooter - character illustrations released

Yes. I know there's Progear and whatnot, but it wouldn't hurt to bring that back. Not the scoring system, but the gameplay; holding down Shot to bring in a partner, like in IN when you hold Slow.

What happened?!

Cave hired a 2chan hermit to design artwork pandering to other 2chan hermits, figyua moe zoku (with the inevitabe merchandising,) pedophiles, and generally the scum of Japanese society. With the tracks already in place, we rode to the natural conclusion (one that didn't lend itself to serious discussion*) which culminated in Sven TEARING THE ROOF OFF OF THE SUCKER. Honorless commented "I have got to stop checking this place at work" because his boss would care more about a cheaply made collage than sexualized representations of children. Also, a couple people tried defending the artwork, because they enjoy looking at it while moving their left hand up and down while grasping the penis and using the right palm to massage the head in small circular motions, just like people who like bakunyuu would defend it primarily for the aesthetic value and nothing else.

I'm proud of what happened.

the one on the left clearly has breasts....so i doubt she is younger than 14...and the other could be her younger sister.....and they are off battling some no-good-niks for some reason or other...why does it automatically have to be sexual....its not real...fantasy....that could be normal garb for the world they are from....

or maybe they are robots.....who knows...we have one character shot to go on here people relax......

and hey....not everybody who plays games or reads manga/watches anime is in there 20's or 30's.....i think it is quite acceptable for a 14 boy to want to see a 14 year old girl scantily clad.....its just a point of view....

i think the underlying issue here is that people are worried that if they play these type of games and enjoy them they are pedos for looking at this stuff....hmmmmm

and just for the record i have no interest in hentai or 14 year old girls.....now 18 year old girls.....thats another story all together

And the emphasis on the cameltoe in that picture is in no way meant to be sexual. It's just the artist way of adding a bit realism to his almost photo realistic artwork

I guess when all we know about the game is two niche character designs, conversation is always going to go bad places.

I would hope that, if it is based around character switches, they're quite drastic. Like Espgaluda rather than IN.

I don't so mind the sluty-ness

Video games have had barely clothed girls for a long time. But the pedo look is getting on my nerves now.

I can deal with mushi and ibara.... I even like those characters ect. Anime chicks don't look "old" ever for the most part and quite young. This is starting to get to another level and quite often. Loli's are getting old to.

I don't expect/need hyper masculine stuff all the time... just not a downward spiral to peanut boobies and pacifiers.

My prediction is that it's going to be a game with bastardized rank that Yagawa is most famous for and large scores similar to that of post-DonPachi pre-Daifukkatsu (Dangan Feveron not included).

Also, I think this will be a vertical game. Also, medals. A Yagawa game is not complete without a medal system of some sort.

as much as i like the design and systems to his games......to be truthful i cant play them to save my life

.....ibara raped me so bad i traded the kit for esprade(to replace the one i fried a while back)before i started to hate the game...cuz as much as i enjoy it, i find it very frustrating......and i play games for fun and to relax, not to get pissed off

i can play ikeda stuff fairly well.....but rank and medal chaining fucks my ass up....my play style is the exact opposite of how you have to play those games.....

who knows....maybe yagawa and ikeda collaboration....*fingers crossed*

Anyway, I have to admit, that the cutesy "I'm 10 with tits" look is getting old now. It's more or less been beaten into the ground quite thoroughly, and I wouldn't mind seeing the "ship" graphics go in a different direction.

Seriously though, I think it's kind of lame too. If I want to look at little girl cartoon porn I'll just, you know, look at little girl cartoon porn. If three or four years ago someone had told me that cave would be doing all this loli stuff I would have been like 'what the fuck ever man'... I mean, I don't mind cute 'em-ups, but cave has made some of the darkest shmups I've ever played and some of the worlds they've created with their levels in the past have been really amazing. You can still have bitches and make the game have a serious tone, like in Ibara... I don't know, I just don't know

EDIT: Then again, it's just a style. Loli probably isn't even remotely controversial in Japan, I guess that's just what the guys on the cave team are into now.

Honestly speaking, CAVE is getting pretty creepy lately. Deathsmiles girls are all super young, fucking Casper is 11! and she's on a fuck pillow of all things. That's genuinely disturbing.
