French actor Jean Reno in hospital...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

The famous French actor, Jean Reno, was hospitalized for suffering a heart attack:

I like his role in the La Femme Nikita and The Professional as "The Cleaner" -- a mysterious assassin character who sleeps with one eye open and the other, closed with a loaded handgun by his side. Always silent and working alone, he can slip undetected by law enforcement and cons alike. He is "The Professional".

There is just one serious flaw about Leon (The Professional): He supposedly can't read. An illiterate could never be a professional killer.

You're right about that, Ceph. That one little glaring fact, if changed, would've lead to a more believable film. So much for film conitunity errors and such. Oh well. Whoever wrote the film script of "The Professional" definitely missed that obvious point.

Perhaps, "The Cleaner" relied on his photographic memory of people, places and landmarks to make his way around in town to compensate for his ability of not being able to read...it's possible, y'know. ^_~

Hope Mr. Reno makes it through this rough period.

Finding the location of your mark, planning the hit and the escape and staying ahead of the police - all that without being able to read as much as a phonebook, a newspaper or a street sign? I think not. It certainly wouldn't be a very long career.
