NEO-GEO adapter/plug question
I need to find plugs that will fit into a neo geo system. The system's ports are 2 deep for what I can find. Any suggestions?

If you are talking about Neo Geo style controllers then its a DB15 connector that you can find at electronics stores.
When I re-wired my Hori sticks for use on Neo Geo what I did was to completely junk the native wiring, then bought a PC cable of e-bay with a suitable pastic male DB15 then cut off the other end and then used the cable to re-wire the whole stick....

That's a Hell of a lot to "shave", I am also having this problem and this method would involve cutting away a lot of metal, and basically leaving no way to securely put a cover on the bare plug.jonny5 wrote:nah....just shave back the edge where it would normally rest when inserted to full depth so it can go in a bit more.....
Just so everyone is on the same page, here's a pic I took just now.

A standard DB-15 is on the left, a NeoGeo connector is on the right. The plug needs to be as long as the one on the right, to reach the male pins which are set deeper inside the console or MVS motherboard.
I'm not 100% against the idea, I just have a hard time imagining it could work. I think what might be more likely is buying a crimp-type DB-15 connector and putting the pins in backwards, and the plastic part as well.

Besides using a cord from another controller, you can:
1) Buy a Pc Joystick/Midi extension cable that it's made of molded plastic and shave it a bit. That's what those "NeoGeo extension cables" that are sold on Ebay are.
2) Buy a Famicom extension cable from Tototek: those are pretty cheap and will work with NeoGeo without any modifications but are a bit short (1.2m 4ft)

im confused...is he looking for the male or the female connector?
i was under the impression he needed the female end which is plastic....and if it wasnt long enough to fully contact the pins in the male connectors, you can just shave it down so it can slide in a bit farther....
i figured he was building a custom stick for an AES
am i wrong?
if so just ignore me
