Ikebukuro End of Summer STG Festival

Post by Rai82 »

Fantasy Zone Complete Collection (PS2), Thunderforce VI (PS2) and Raiden IV (Xbox 360) will be showcased and the public will be able to test play the game in their home versions before their release date. Venue is at Sega Ikebukuro GIGO on August 30. Here's hoping for gameplay videos popping up after that festival. :)

I'll definately be there to check it out, even if none of the titles appeal to me very much. Maybe they will :)

On another note, I didn't know these DJs are popular to warrant a game music concert, at least for the gaming community in Japan. I only first heard some of them from the Raiden IV remix list (I'm not that informed you know).

Edit: Oh, forgot. Cristophe Kagotani was there as well as many other reporters, so maybe this will show up in some magzines later.

Yeah, the queue line to try Thunder Force VI was really long. Probably 1-2 hours. Raiden IV and Fantasy Zone usually only had 3-4 people lined up.

The were 8 cabs, loaded with Raiden, Raiden DX, Raiden IV, some Thunder Force, Thunder Force AC, and three Fantasy Zone.

Watching the short clip of the developer playing through Thunderforce VI and when one of the bosses transformed, the crowd oohed and aahed. I kind of laughed when I heard that. Nice to know that quite a number of people are excited about this game.

I was there as well, the last person to get in on the prize raffle actually (#200). Didn't care for the smelly otaku so I only attended the TF6 session where the producer and TAMAYO were in on. He played through stage 3 and died very quickly which everyone laughed at but one thing I noticed is that whenever he used intensive weapons like Free Range or the MAX backwards shooting (forget the name) the game would slowdown. Intentional? I do think it looks better in motion than the stills, nice little touches such as other squad members appearing on screen are nice. Reminds me of the scene in TF4 where you get the Thunder Sword.
