I wrote a big post over at Digital Press, but the bottom line is this:
-In 2001, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon comes (presumably after Clancy gets tips from a CIA employee who studies world conflicts for a living, as opposed to Clancy who just takes all the predictions and makes a war out of them)
-It's supposed to be Georgia vs. Russia in a cage match supported by some Ghosts in April 2008. Note the year, wow!
-How many books and trash games does Clancy's team pump out every year?
-So far, the actual events of August 2008 are more damning against Tom Clancy's favorite methods of solving international crises, and we've seen Russia's actions, both behind-the-scenes and military, take a pounding. We also see the international organizations (NATO in this case, but Clancy loves international alliances, see Rainbow 6) take a pounding because having an unreliable Georgian President calling the shots could have pulled us into a military conflict.
So yeah, hooray diplomacy.
also hooray getting your news from video games, good job national review
