do you know about this website?http://www.thecorroseum.com/
I just changed it, but it's cool that you recognized it. I'll admit that I haven't heard any Heavy Load yet, I just thought the cover was awesome. Most of my metal favorites are death metal and thrash, but I've been getting more into 80s heavy metal lately. Some old and new favorites there:

Manilla Road - Crystal Logic
Warlord - And the Cannons of Destruction Have Begun...
Adramelch - Irae Melanox
Witchfinder General
Mercyful Fate etc.

Bookmarked that site, thanks. 8)

Josh was looking for some good instrumental stoner/doom. Check out Beast in the Field.

The entire Album is like 15min long, but those are absolutely mindblowing and brutal.
It's totally a kick-in-your-face grind experience. ^^

Yeah caught them in Manchester with Hot Bone and it was indeed excellent. Nice and Krautrock with some good ole Branca feedback thrown in, my kind of thing.

To the guys that like Grindcore, check out MechaGodzilla on myspace (downloadable albums on thei website) and thank me later.

Also, as above, Moondog is bliss. I've been listening to the 2LP compilation Viking of Sixth Avenue (I think it's called?) and I love the polyrhythms.

Now it's The Fall - This Nation's Saving Grace

Thankfully I have it on vinyl so I don't have to listen to one of the most attrocious CD mixes of all time. I wish Beggars Banquet would pull their heads out of their arses and get some decent sounding versions of this period stuff out.

What you need!

Anal Cunt - It Just Gets Worse

I love these guys. The early stuff is kinda boring and samey but the later stuff is pure grindcore gold. Plus their cover songs are always the best.

Can anyone recommend me some good NEW thrash? I know there has been somewhat of a thrash resurgence as of late... I'm a casual fan of the genre, which generally leaves me out of the loop when it comes to the new hotness.

Lately I've been on a sloppy lo-fi kick. In particular this record has been in ultra-heavy rotation:

The Death Set - Worldwide

Followed by:

No Age - Nouns
Times New Viking - Rip it Off
Wooden Shjips - Vol 1.
The YMD - Excuse Me, This is Yah Mos Def

Great, great album, though I feel Original Sufferhead is his masterpiece (although, there's a certain point where a lot of his side-long sets could easily be argued to be his masterpiece.)

Did you see there was a new set out collecting his somewhat more restrained late 60's material where he's still trying to do club music? I have a 1 cd set of that material, but I guess now there is more :?

The Sons of Hercules - s/t
The Fumes - Self-Appointed Guardian of the Machine
