...the casing looks ideal for Shmups, as it seems to 'tate.

all lcds can tate ... hand made? ...pfft... old parts better than new? specs small 17", rubbish response time, low contrast ratio ... basically an old samsung in a nice case? ... its probably not the worst for shmups, but certainly not good. The only reason I can see to really buy would be to help recycle?

I'd forget the screen. The casing should be standard size, so should be easy enough to drop another monitor in there. I think the case is the only reason i'd consider it...although maybe not worth £175 for the luxury.
