Any shmups after Mushihisma on PS2

Post by shariar07 »

Hey guys i'm hoping before 2006, since that is when the PS3 is going to come out, i hope we at least get one more shmup game for PS2, are there any hopes or chances about especially IBARA, or Raiden 3 or Houmra on Ps2. I hope Mushihismam seill very good and Cave>arika or Taito announce another shmup i would really be hopin for Ibara or Raiden 3 as maybe the last shmups on PS2 or even Ketsui if Arika will get incolved again. What do you guys think is it over for PS2 shmup libary. Also heard that PS3 price point is $500 well i'm not itnerested in this system until after couple years when the price reaches maybe 199

Woah, woah, hold up there. You're looking off into the future awfully far, and everything you just mentioned about the PS3 is a rumor. Enjoy Mushihime-sama when it comes out, then just hope for more. We've got around a year before the Japanese PS3 even -might- come out, so you can worry about the price later. Slow down man! 8)

If Taito still plans to port Type-X titles to the PS2 for consumer use, then consider Homura and Raiden III sure bets. Plus there's always the "Classic game Collection" bandwagon that's chugging around.

And if the PS1 library says anything to you, it's that there will still be PS2 games, and perhaps even PS2 shooters, well after the PS3 launch.

Releases

Post by DEL »

I would repeat Cthulhu with the "Whoah, Woah". Shooters are meant to be played with quality in mind not quantity.
shariar07 - it seems like your lining up a 'quantity' of upcoming releases before you've even played Mushihimesama.
Don't worry, Mush is sweet. there's enough modes to keep everyone busy for quite a while. Although I don't envy the Cavemen who will undergo the exquisite torture of trying to 1CC Ultra Mode :?
As for length of play, I've been quite happy playing Mush for 5 months now (without autofire circuits). We are installing our own autofire circuits in the cab in Casino Arcade tomorrow, & I'm itching to play the game with the same 'autofire hack priviliges' as the Japanese & HK players. So there's a lot more life in it yet for me.

I'm digressing a bit....but I hope you appreciate my point :D

Cheers, DEL

Twinkle Star Sprites: La Petite Princess for PS2 comes out the week after Mushihime-sama. NCSX have the preorder up and ready for it.

There are strong possibilities for Konami's Xexex also coming in August, as ckm pointed at click-stick's.

Yesss! *runs over tot he click BB*

:)

Oh yeah, and what Del said about quality over quantity. Mushihime DOJ and Progear alone should keep me busy all summer.

xexex? ps2? as a single game?
what the hell?
or is it gba, or better yet, DS? that would be awesome tho, granted its the jp ver.

edit: so it was ps2...well at 20$ its not too bad, but still pretty bad, i get a feeling that they will butcher it for whatever reason tho, dont know why (and i mean stuff worse than fake low res)

I suspect that the few shmup developers/publishers still alive are not going to jump ship to PS3. They need to reach out to as many gamers as possible, and therefore we will probably continue seeing shmups released on PS2 even after the PS3 has been released.

Yeah, only one stage. It's a mini-game, not an extra game.
