Poll: What is your favorite Takumi game?

Personally I think Gigawing. Everything after that they just went overboard and made it too hard. But maybe I will be able to appreciate these one day...

I love Mars Matrix.
Giga Wing 2 is pretty sweet until the end marathon of boss battles and premature ending.
I like twin cobra II-- it's always better than I remembered.

I think giga wing probably has the best presentation. I just wish the earlier levels felt like the last level (like mars matrix does).

Night Raid rules besides being tooooo difficult.
(never played giga wing generations)

I pick Giga Wing 2 just for it's soundtrack alone. Plus, the medal volcanoes are sexy eye candy. 8)

'Trix. I mean it's not a Psikyo game but what is.

Twin Cobra 2 - boring, unnecessary update

Giga Wing - shield feels a little limited and clunky after playing MM, needs more bullets on early stages

GW2 - somewhat ugly, even more limited score-wise (earlier max multiplier), needed 1 more full stage

Night Raid - Jesus fuckin Christ! :o

GWG - ugly, no music, 1 bad stage and an embarrassing final boss

That line-up is a mess, bless 'em.

I think Gigawing looks and sounds absolutely horrible. At least Mars Matrix doesn't and has this rather cool atmosphere.

Couldn't decide between Mars Matrix and Giga Wing 2, then watched Mars Matrix' opening and voted for it.

I havent played either Gigawing 2 or Night Raid, so I can't compare them.

So I vote for Gigawing. I love Gigawing, even though I kinda suck at it.

I haven't played everything in the poll but out of Mars Matrix and Giga Wing I like Giga Wing's design a lot more.

I think the graphics are pretty charming. Whereas the 3d graphics on part 2 and generations look not so good

I really should give a 2nd go to Mars Matrix. I admit I didn't play it for more than 10 minutes, but I couldn't get into it.

Here's a tip: unless I'm mistaken, the hitbox is the very front tip of the ship. Which is usually obscured by your own shots.

Don't worry about chaining, you have to beat 12 stages anyway!

Edit: If it means anything, I actually enjoy Mars Matrix slightly more. Must just be the feel of it.

Giga Wing 2, easily. Despite some rough design in the models, I think the choice of colour added a much more fitting mood to the game (no more day-glo/hypercolor shit). Also, the soundtrack is easily the best Takumi OST ever. Control is fantastic and I actually really enjoy the end boss rush.

Twin Cobra II: I agree with Rob.. a completely unnecessary update.
Giga Wing: Feels very clunky in comparison to the sequel. Also, rather ugly.
Mars Matrix: Fucking hideous (yes, even the CPS2 original). Thankfully it plays really well... although, I still have a strong distaste for time-based chaining systems.
Night Raid: Abstract can be cool, but I think that the scoring system is far more complicated than it should have been.
Giga Wing Generations: I remember saying in a review for Night Raid that Takumi's time would have been better spent developing Giga Wing 3... I guess I was wrong.

I had to go with Twin Cobra II; it's the most old-school in style, and the Saturn port is a great update.. Awesome shmup! :D

Giga Wing for me. Mars Matrix is probably a better game, but like Kiken I hate timed chaining so I can't get into it.
I'm kind of confused by all the hate for the graphics... it looks fine for a CPS-2 game. Anyway, I thought us hardcore gamers weren't supposed to care about graphics.

The backgrounds look like they could almost be from a Mega Drive game. I like that.
