Streaming media (mp3's) from a Unix pc to a PS3

Anybody have any experience with any of this?
Is it even possible?
any thoughts, links would be appreciated.

I recently set up FUPPES for a friend who wanted to stream media to his PS3:

http://fuppes.ulrich-voelkel.de/

Any UPnP server will do it. There are plenty of alternatives available under Linux. FUPPES is just one.

I just use apache for streaming mp3 and movies through the web browser on the ps3.

sure, maybe you have to download the mp3 first, but movies stream fine over http
