Yes it is fairly rare so the price does not surprise me. It's a pretty good game with a 2 games in 1 feature. The original game and a new one with new levels and bosses.

It's petty good, it's one of those good solid Toaplan shooters. But for that price, I would rather have a Cave PCB.

I don't understand all this praise. Slap Fight is a terrible game. Its design just feels primitive, the visuals are barely above NES standards, and the music is crappy as well.

I don't think the graphics have aged that much. They still look plain awesome to me. I'm must admit, I'm a huge fan of ithe game; I found the level design to be pretty interesting:

-continuous gameplay (no pause in between bosses) keeps you own you toes,
-there is no ranking at all which I really like,
-you have to balance between being overly powered which induces a big hit box and staying small to dogde bullets.,
-You must adapt your weapons to the terrain to unlock cool bonuses

My top 3 Toaplan of all time with Truxton, Outzone, Flying Shark, Twin Cobra, Zero Wing... ;)

It's a good package, it has the original Slap Fight as well as a "sequel" of sorts called Slap Fight MID. It's definitely worth checking out.
