Rare JPN ver. single layer CPS2 Gigawing PCB + a few ?'s...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

I was browsing on the Jamma PCBs up for sale on eBay and came across this black colored JPN region Capcom CPS2 Gigawing PCB auction. Note that it is the rare single layer PCB version -- combines both the CPS2 motherboard and Gigawing board into one PCB + no need for a fan either. Ever notice that the seller doesn't bother to mention that it is such a single layer PCB anyways -- I think he does know what he is selling, just be upfront about it and let the arcade PCB hobbyists know what they're exactly buying with this particular Gigawing PCB setup. (Or it could be that he is truly cluessless about that CPS2 setup.) Other than that, that'd be a cool one to own/play btw.

Note: this ain't my auction anyways.

How much do these black-colored single layer CPS2 PCBs go for on YAJ these days?

I recall that fellow shmupper, oxtsu, scored a JPN region black colored single layer CPS2 Mars Matrix PCB not too long ago. ^_~

And does the single layer CPS2 PCB still have a suicide battery to contend with?

And can such single layer CPS2 PCB be revived if it suicides (like the traditional CPS2 "A" & "B" board counterpart can)?

Thanks in advance for the informative answers as always, fellow shmuppers... ^_~

I just recently got educated that those certain boards cannot be phoenixed. I never saw one until this past weekend.

If any of you are inclined to understand proper techie PCB information, as with most things CPS2 there's some good stuff on the combined CPS2 at CPS2 Shock, about two thirds of the way down this article.

I don't understand what half of those nuggets of jargon and numbers even mean, but they make me want one of these beauties! How sad...

I got my single board gigawing for something like $50 off YAJ a few years ago.

They can still suicide, and I don't believe they are revivable via normal phoenix roms
