Post your latest Yoshi TnG scores

Post by Dylan1CC »

Well, last night in the office after several weeks of feverishly perfecting my cloud paths, coin cricling/throwing and egg tossing, I got what I think is about as high as I can go on score attack (for a long time anyways):

550 points

Marathon, no change but still pretty good:

4,556 yards

I have heard marathon becomes almost impossible to survive after 6,000 yards unless you keep earning invincibility, anyone here experience that?

Haven't dug much into time attack or challenge yet.

Ha ha! You're playing Yoshi's Touch n' Go!

Seriously, the game looks cool, but I'm holding off on a DS until the really killer stuff comes out this fall. I bought one when it launched and then just used it as a GBA.

I just got this a few days ago and i'm really loving it. Totally crap at it though, but i'm sure i'll get better. It's games like this that make the DS stand out for me and make it into a genuinely intresting and exciting console/handheld.
Great stuff!

8 1/2: Assuming you are gonna rebuy a DS, once you get Yoshi TnG, be patient with it. Cuz the first few days I owned it I was honestly a bit disappointed with the game. However, once the game "clicks" with you and you get into the scoring it is amazing. Whoda thunk in this day and age Nintendo EAD would make an old school arcade scoring game?

I agree, it's amazing how deep the game is when every single function is performed with the stylus. Some have complained "it's just the same levels over and over," but it's all so random it never feels like the same game twice. Especially when you are constantly discovering new things to try for better aiming, cloud drawing and scoring.

BTW, just checked out your shmup site, nice work and awesome collection/set up! Love your cab! :)

I honestly wish I was playing it. When the hardware gets all cheaplike. I envy you that are playing this one. But the Kirby one looks to be the "killer app". I'll join this party some day soon.

My high score in Score Attack is like, 355. In Marathon I think I'm just shy of 7,000 yards. I rarely play the other two modes.

At any rate, I love Yoshi's Touch N Go. I think it and Pac Pix really show off what the DS should be all about very well. Granted, I wish there were more games on the DS with "substance", but I guess that won't really happen 'til mid summer. :?

But yes, Yoshi's Touch N Go and Pac Pix rock, and both are pretty much digital crack!

This weekend I went from a 6,500 yard score to a whopping new 14,139 yards. Whoo.

Frito in TNL boards has about 16,000. I think I can do at least 18 now. *evil laugh*

I've not actually played TnG all that much yet. I think I'm only somewhere around 150 in Score Attack and 250 yards in marathon. I'll have to mess with it some more.

Definitely mess with it more. You might be amazed at how immersed in the scoring you get.

I'll have to dig this one out one of these days... I just picked up Osu! Tatake! Ouendan! from the import store today though, so I'll probably be spending some time on that too...

Finally improved my marathon mode score last night:

17,724 yards

And recently upped my score attack, don't think I can get much more than this:

602 points
