Japanese psn shooters
Japanese psn shooters
I recently got some yen in my Jpsn account and downloaded some PS1 shooters, R-Type Delta, Shienryu, and Einhander, but now I'm kind of stuck on what else to get. Are Philosoma, Raystorm, or Raiden worth getting? I'ts kinda hard to find a good review for any of them online.
I'd recommend Raiden for sure. Raystorm is a little different, it's not quite my style, but lots of people really love it and it seems pretty unique. You can try out the PC demo of Kamui (it's on http://shootthecore.moonpod.com/ ) to see if you like the gameplay style, as it's very similar to Raystorm.

The original PSX game of Ray Crisis was released on 4/20/2000 for the Japanese market. I personally asked when this game was going to be available for purchase at a Japanese video game store and that was the answer I got. Fine game for it's time. If you do have access to a Taito G-Net mobo, the original version of Ray Crisis exists as a Taito G-Card game cartridge.Matsunaga wrote:Raycrisis is also available, as of today.
Working Designs localized it but after a long and lengthy delay, it finally appeared on the retail shelves across the USA. And even had a another special high score contest like with it's earlier Raystorm $10,000 contest. I won a consolation prize, a cool Working Designs branded Raystorm mouse pad and still use it today. ^_~

I meant it is available in the Playstation network store, as of today, for ps3/psp. It dosen't make sense to me that the Japan store gets 3-4 classic games a week, and the US store gets maybe 1 a month..
Congrats on the high score contest also, a Raystorm mousepad sounds awesome.

While at the time of its initial release it was interesting, Philosoma is a mediocre title at best that doesn't hold up well. If you are really bored and want something that might hold your attention for a evening or two, then purchase it.
Raiden is by far the best choice of the three!

Philosoma is an acquired taste, but the others are cool.Matsunaga wrote:I recently got some yen in my Jpsn account and downloaded some PS1 shooters, R-Type Delta, Shienryu, and Einhander, but now I'm kind of stuck on what else to get.
