Euro RGB Scart to Japanese 21-pin

Post by Grinning Cat »

Hi,

I'm looking at getting some European Scart cables converted to Japanese 21-pin RGB, but just wanted to know if the diagrams in this link are correct - http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/rgb21pinj.htm

Just to be sure, that's what the new cables have to be re-wired to and not from, right?

Thanks,

Louis

This table is right, I could build myself a ghetto converter for my Sigma Raijin.
This is the pin-out of the Japanese 21-pin RGB, so if your input is a Euro SCART you want to convert to Japanese 21-pin RGB, then this is indeed what the cables have to be wired to. But why would you want to do this anyway?

Cheers VxD - that's just what I hoped :D

Am looking to run a few consoles through an XRGB to my Plasma - and the XRGB only takes Japanese RGB. I'm not that optistimic about the results, but then I've never really tried a 'decent' upscale converter before....

I'm desperately trying to thin-down the number of screens in my games room (to make way for my cab), so if it's no good - I'll probably just look into some console to Jamma adaptors :)

It's been some years, but I remember the L and R audio channels to be mixed up on the gamesx.com pinout. You might want to check this with some stereo track you know after wiring it up.

when I converted a PS2 Euro scart cable for use on my XRGB2 the stereo sound signals were the wrong way round, left was right and vice versa, dont know if its an XRGB2 specific issue or not though as I didn't have a JPN TV to test it with before.
do you play games ?

I would like an adapter made from JP21 to Euro SCART if anyone is interested. Ghetto or not, I'd pay a decent sum.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
