Help burning Beats of Rage

Post by alpha5099 »

I've never done burned a game for my Dreamcast, so I'm not sure I did this right. My DC is very finicky, and it wouldn't load real games either, so I can't tell if I burned the disk properly or not. I'm leaning towards not.

I followed the directions to use Disc Juggler as I found them here:
http://www.dchomebrew.org/burncdi.shtml

I unzipped the BoR files and selected the .cdi file to burn onto a disc. However, it indicated that there were 2 tracks and 2 sessions, and I ended up having to burn two discs. There seemed to be a red flag when the first disc ended, and the application indicated that the discs I was using might not have been formatted properly (or something like that). I was using regular CD-Rs.

Did I mess up somewhere along the line? I feel like I shouldn't have two discs. Can anyone help me get this right?

You do not need two discs all right. It sounds to me that Discjuggler was being picky. I suggest you try Alcohol 120. Also, try burning at the lowest speed possible.

If all fails, I can burn you a copy and send it over. I gave my old one to Greg, since I am too busy with PSO and Virtual On to play something else.

Hmm, thanks, although I think I'll pass on being sent a disc unless it's a last resort. Again, what kind of disc should I be using, just a regular CD-R?

Also, what about all the mods? Will I need seperate discs for every mod, or could I burn them all onto one disc?

Each mod would be a separate game and therefore will need a separate disc. CDR should work, just use high-quality media. My DC has never had a problem with TDK, Verbatim and Fuji; but avoid Maxell and Memorex.

You can download several mods here. Hyper Final Fight 1 and 2 are recommended. Avoid the Hatchet Ninjaz and MM war of the past. They are buggy, crash-prone, and just plain unfair.
