F3 cart fan removal and PS3 region compatibility?

Post by maxlords »

Got two separate questions:

1. Is it recommended to remove the fan from an F3 cart? The one in my Arkanoid Returns (I JUSt got a mobo for it) is INCREDIBLY loud and irritating...can't even hear the game!)

2. Does the Jp PS3 play US games? And only US PS3 or will it play older US games as well?

Thanks!

For maxlords,

1.) Sorry, I don't have a Taito F3 mobo setup, so I can't help you with that question.

2.) Yes, the Japanese region PS3 console will play USA and EUR region PS3 games without any problems. It can also play USA region Blu-Ray movies as well. A JPN region PS3 can't play the USA region PSX games & it can't play the USA PS2 games either. You'd have to resort to getting a USA region PS3 console to play the USA region PSX & PS2 games. ^_~

Thanks for the info! BTW....ARE there any decent playable PS3 games for non-Jp speakers/readers?

Oh...and it turns out there's a TINY fan on the F3 mobo that I just unplugged as it wasn't hitting anything anyway.

yeah those little shicoh (?) fans are pretty expensive actually too.... so I just unplugged mine as I didnt really feel like spending 20-30 for a fan on a cheap motherboard. Hasnt given me any problems yet but I rarely play the F3 for extended amounts of time on end.
