Raiden 2 doesn't work with XRGB-2 ?

Post by kemical »

Been messing with an XRGB-2, displays all my games perfectly except for Raiden 2, the screen rolls in 60hz mode, and goes crazy in 50hz mode.. I can see it is trying to lock into 54 or 55hz when doing the monitor info, but it wont stick... I've tried it on 4 displays so far with varying results (some wont even display, some display for a moment and then disable the signal etc)

are there any tricks to getting it working?

Also, 31khz is always lit up, how does one go about using 15khz, is it through the larger 15pin video out connector? (meant for cga monitors?)

Can the XRGB-2 be used for displaying back out to a 15khz monitor, but with the added ability to adjust the picture?

*edit* actually I guess that large 15pin is just one of the types of Japanese rgb connectors, ill have to make a connector to see how it looks.

is it a XRGB 2 or XRGB 2 plus you are using?
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Could the problem be with the monitors you tried ? The XRGB2 doesn't change the vertical refresh, does it ? 54Hz in, 54Hz out and many monitors won't support this refresh rate, since it's far from any VESA mode.

I think the XRGB-2 changes it, but I'm not an expert on them, I just know that it can switch from auto to 50hz or 60hz, and my monitors behave differently depending on which of the three its set on.

I am thinking it is likely a monitor issue though, but at the same time I assumed that the XRGB's whole purpose was to convert the input into VGA compatible signals.

I have an XRGB2 but no Raiden to test. Micomsoft stopped supporting PCB's after 2 because of the range of frequencies used by different companies. Maybe this was one such PCB that never got any support. I'd just buy it on PSone and be done with it.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
